Origin Story
Tandoori chicken was first cooked at Moti Mahal — the same kitchen that later invented butter chicken — when it was still in Peshawar, before Partition. Chicken was marinated in yogurt and spice, then roasted whole in a clay tandoor.
The kitchen moved to Delhi after Partition, and the dish travelled with it — eventually becoming one of the most recognised Indian dishes worldwide. No sauce, no shortcuts, just smoke and spice doing the work.
At Indian Curry Club, we marinate it overnight in yogurt, ginger-garlic and Kashmiri chilli, then roast it to order in our tandoor. Halal-certified from start to finish.
